Good Response to ‘Surakshit Ganesh Mandal’ Initiative in Surat Entries from more than 50 Ganesh Mandals, zone-wise ground survey begins Evaluation to be conducted on the basis of fire safety, security and crowd management

Surat: With the aim of promoting safety and awareness during Ganeshotsav, the Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI), Surat Chapter has launched the ‘Surakshit Ganesh Mandal’ initiative. Under this initiative, the arrangements related to fire safety, security and crowd management at Ganesh Mandals are being evaluated.

Chinmay Desai, President of the FSAI Surat Chapter, said that a large number of people participate in Ganeshotsav. The main objective is to increase awareness about fire safety and security through this festival and to give priority to safety.

Three main criteria have been decided for the award:

Fire Safety: Safety arrangements available in case of a fire

Security: Security-related arrangements at the Mandal

Crowd Management: Arrangements for smooth management of the crowd

Under this initiative, entries from more than 50 Ganesh Mandals have been received so far. More Mandals are also likely to join. After registration, FSAI is forming zone-wise teams and conducting ground surveys at the Mandals.

The winning Ganesh Mandals will be presented with awards on the 10th or 11th day of Ganeshotsav. The award distribution programme will be attended by Vasant Parikh, Head of Emergency Services of Surat Municipal Corporation, Anilbhai Biscuitwala, Surat Municipal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other dignitaries.
