Surat: Renowned environmentalist Viral Desai, popularly known as the ‘Greenman’, attended the annual function of the Garima Vayask Vama Group in Surat as the chief guest. He led an inspiring and thought-provoking discussion with senior citizen women, focusing on environmental conservation and sustainable living.
In his address, Mr. Desai emphasised the importance of protecting the environment and encouraged the participants to play a vital role in spreading awareness. He specifically highlighted the influential role senior women can have on the younger generation by sharing stories and values that instil a deep respect for nature. As grandmothers, he noted, they were uniquely positioned to shape environmentally conscious future citizens.
Mr. Desai also introduced the audience to his movement, “Satyagraha Against Pollution and Climate Change”, explaining its purpose and how every person can contribute to environmental preservation in their own way.
The participants warmly appreciated Mr. Desai’s message and offered their heartfelt blessings and best wishes for his continued efforts in environmental advocacy.
Reflecting on the occasion, Mr. Desai said, “Teaching experienced elders like these about environmental conservation is beyond my ability. But receiving their blessings is a truly humbling moment. Their love and support inspire me to keep moving forward on the path of protecting the planet.”
