Surat: Sarvajanik University successfully hosted its flagship cultural and academic extravaganza, SU Carnival 2026, from 16th to 20th February 2026 at the university campus, bringing together students, faculty, partners, and the community in a vibrant celebration of creativity, talent, learning, and sustainability.
The grand inaugural ceremony on 19th February at 10:30 AM at the SCET Amphitheatre was graced by Shri Ashish Vakil, President – SU and Chairperson – SES, along with distinguished dignitaries including Immediate Past President Shri Bharat Shah, Provost, Dr. Kiran Pandya, UAC Chairman Shri Rajesh Desai, Vice Chairperson 1 of SES, Dr. K. R. Desai, Vice Chairman-2 of SES, Shri Ajit Shah, as well as all Deans, Principals, Directors, Heads, faculty members, staff, and students. The inauguration featured a sustainability-themed flash mob, ceremonial lighting of the lamp, presidential address, prize distribution for pre-carnival competitions (held 16–18 February), launch of the SU Music Band, and an energetic opening dance marathon.
Throughout the carnival, visitors engaged in a diverse lineup of activities including interactive stalls, karaoke, workshops, readathon sessions, games, and creative engagement zones. A special highlight was the student-managed stalls, where students independently conceptualized, organized, marketed, and executed their ideas. This experiential platform provided practical exposure to entrepreneurship, leadership, persuasive communication, teamwork, and real-time decision-making, thereby strengthening essential life and managerial skills beyond classroom learning. Scheduled intervals for venue reset and cleanliness drives further reflected the event’s sustainability focus and students’ responsible participation.

An important academic highlight of the celebration was the organization of SUMUN (Sarvajanik University Model United Nations), which offered students a global simulation platform to deliberate on international issues. The conference enhanced participants’ research abilities, diplomatic negotiation skills, public speaking confidence, policy analysis competence, and global awareness. It also encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership—key competencies essential for future professionals and responsible global citizens.
The evening segments on both days showcased cultural brilliance with student performances, felicitation of sponsors and participating NGOs, a student fashion show, and a lively DJ night during the grand finale on 20th February. The carnival concluded on a high note, symbolizing unity, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
