SURAT, March 16, 2026 – Marking a historic milestone in the educational landscape of Western India, South Gujarat at Umbhrat near Surat is set to welcome its first greenfield, co-educational residential Sainik School this June. Established under the visionary leadership of globally renowned diamantaire and philanthropist Shri Govind Dholakia, the SRK Sainik School operates under the landmark Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy of the Government of India, in formal affiliation with the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence (MoD).
The institution represents a fusion of India’s premier military-style discipline and world-class academic standards. Spanning a sprawling 21-acre modern campus, the school is designed to go beyond traditional schooling, offering a CBSE Plus curriculum that places heavy emphasis on leadership, character building, and vocational skill development.
Complementing the traditional rigors of the Sainik School model, the SRK Sainik School will integrate a multi-dimensional approach to cadet development. Shreyans Dholakia, representing the leadership at SRK, emphasized the school’s commitment to a futuristic yet grounded educational experience.

The school will be fully operational from the first week of June 2026. The inaugural cohort for Class VI will consist of 120 cadets, including 100 boys and 20 girls, selected through the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).
